SCB offers expertise to support IPBES process

The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) has just concluded its second plenary meeting in Antalya, Turkey. The SCB delegation played an important role in the plenary, and SCB member Bengt Gunnar Jonsson can be seen amongst the speakers featured on this page.  SCB president Rodrigo Medellin sent a letter (available here) formally offering SCB's expertise to help support the IPBES process going forward. IPBES hopes to focus science on biodiversity conservation issues in a similar manner to the IPCC'S renowned work on climate change science. SCB's involvement with IPBES is one of the key ways in which SCB engages on international biodiversity policy issues.
