Introduction to Estimation and Modelling of Ecological Populations

This course is designed for the beginner- and intermediate-level researcher who is wanting a broad overview of available methods for estimating and modelling ecological populations, with an emphasis on abundance-based measures. Methods to be covered include:

  • Generalised linear models
  • Study design
  • Multivariate analyses
  • Distance sampling
  • Non-spatial capture-recapture models (closed and open population)
  • Spatial capture-recapture models
  • Occupancy models
  • Cost:

The course fee is GBP £500, which includes:
