Subject: Data Science in R (ONLINE)

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Learn the basics of R from an experienced research ecologist, wildlife manager, and professor who knows what researchers, students, resource managers, and professionals need to do on a day-to-day basis to work more efficiently and enhance their output at work and school. Learn from the ground up, beginning with loading and organizing ecological datasets in RStudio to building beautiful plots for publication. After completing this course, consider enrolling in Introduction to Ecological Modeling to build on your foundation in R by learning the essential quantitative skills to be successful in reporting, presenting, and publishing your work.

FORMAT: This is an intensive one-week, one-semester credit equivalent course that you can learn at your own pace over four weeks. Watch prerecorded lectures, work on problem sets, and receive live instructor support the first week (Dec. 13-17: 9:00-12:00 and 18:00-21:00 EDT) via discussion forums, by email, or during one-on-one phone/Zoom appointments. During the following three weeks, students will have daily, but limited, instructor support and feedback about course materials and the option to work with the instructor on a personal project or ask questions that pertain to work or school.
