Travel Bursaries for CAC Nepal 2026
The Conservation Asia Congress Nepal 2026 (CAC Nepal 2026) is offering a limited number of highly competitive travel bursaries to support participation by eligible contributors from across Asia.
Travel bursaries are intended to facilitate attendance at the Congress and to help reduce financial barriers for presenters whose participation would otherwise be limited.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be considered:
- Be a full member of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) at the time of application
- Be based in an Asian Lower- or Middle-Income Country
- Have submitted an individual abstract to CAC Nepal 2026 (and selected travel support need) as:
- a Full Oral Presentation,
- a Speed Talk, or
- a Poster Presentation
Selection Process
Travel bursaries are awarded based on:
- The scientific and thematic quality of the submitted abstract
- The applicant’s demonstrated financial need
- Considerations of geographic distance and travel cost
- The goal of supporting a diverse and representative Congress programme
All travel support decisions are made as part of a competitive review process, and submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
Nature of the Award
- Travel bursaries are provided as a fixed amount
- The award may be used to partially support:
- Travel costs, and/or
- Congress registration fees, depending on individual need and distance travelled
- The bursary is intended as a contribution toward expenses and may not cover all costs associated with attendance
How to Apply
Travel bursary applications are submitted together with the abstract submission through the CAC Nepal 2026 submission portal.
Detailed instructions, timelines, and required documentation will be made available here, on the CAC Nepal 2026 Travel Support page, after abstract selection notifications are issued.
Important Notes
- Only one travel bursary may be awarded per individual
- Applicants must ensure their SCB membership is active prior to applying
- Travel bursaries are subject to available funding
- The number of bursaries awarded and the fixed award amount will depend on the level of funding secured. CAC Nepal 2026 is actively working to significantly expand travel support, with the aim of supporting up to 10x more participants than at previous Conservation Asia Congresses.
