Join us for an evening of powerful storytelling at the International Congress for Conservation Biology (ICCB) 2025 Nature Documentary Night. This special event features three short documentary films that bring light to diverse ecological stories. Through three special films, we’ll explore how conservation is not just about protecting species and places, but about rethinking relationships with land, water, and each other.

Featured Films:

  • Burnt Country (18 min) – Could Australia’s past help secure its future? 65,000 years in the making, Burnt Country is about fighting fire, with fire. Exploring the profound knowledge and wisdom of First Nations, this film is an invitation to connect to country and community.
  • Kāhuli (27 min) - Hawai‘i’s native snail species, which play significant roles in our ecosystem and Hawaiian culture, face an emergent threat and are rapidly disappearing. A documentary that encourages reflection on our relationship with the rapidly changing natural world and shows us that even the smallest species are worth saving.
  • White Rock (35 min) – This film explores the explosion of longspined sea urchins devastating Australia’s kelp forests, and a nature-positive solution rooted in restoration and community action.

Bring your curiosity and join us for stories that spark insight and dialogue. Space is limited — so grab your ticket early!
