Poster Preparation Guidelines
-
The official poster template will be available as a PDF on the Society for Conservation Biology – LACA website. To prepare your poster, please follow the steps below:
-
Download the official PDF template available on the congress website.
-
Open Canva and select “Create a design” → “Custom size”. Set the dimensions to:
-
Width: 90 cm
-
Height: 120 cm
-
With the new file open in Canva, upload the PDF template and use it as the basis for creating your poster.
-
Edit the template as needed, adding the title, authors, affiliations, text, figures, tables, graphs, and other elements related to your work. The template already includes the visual identity of the 5th Latin American and Caribbean Congress of Conservation Biology, including the event title, theme, location, and designated spaces for the organizing and supporting institutions.
-
Pay attention to the layout: after importing the PDF into Canva, carefully check all elements. Depending on how the file is imported, some text, logos, lines, or other elements may shift slightly. Before finalizing your poster, make sure that all elements are properly aligned and that the original structure of the template is preserved.
-
Logos: files containing the Congress, LACA, UFRGS, CECLIMAR, and partner institution logos will also be made available for participants who wish to use them in their posters, presentations, and other materials related to the congress.
-
Once your poster is complete, we recommend exporting it as a PDF, ensuring that the file maintains adequate quality for presentation.
-
Important: The template should be used as the basis for maintaining the visual identity and standardization of the congress posters. Participants are free to organize and edit their scientific content according to their needs, provided that they preserve the overall format and institutional elements of the template.
