Closing Dinner

Join us for an unforgettable IMCC8 Closing Dinner at the National Museum of Scotland on 16th November 2026 as we celebrate another incredible International Marine Conservation Congress, the friendships we've built, the collaborations we've forged, and the collective impact of our global marine conservation community.

Enjoy a delicious dinner and drinks in one of Edinburgh's most iconic venues before dancing the night away to live Scottish music and a traditional Ceilidh band - no experience required! We'll also take a moment to reflect on the highlights of the Congress, celebrate our shared achievements, and look ahead to the future of marine conservation. It's the perfect way to bring IMCC8 to a memorable close together.

Welcome Reception

Open to all delegates, this relaxed evening offers an opportunity to connect with marine conservation colleagues from around the world while enjoying drinks, canapés, and traditional Scottish clàrsach music and entertainment as we celebrate the start of IMCC8 in Edinburgh.

The IMCC8 Welcome Reception is included with your conference registration. However, if you are bringing a companion to Edinburgh who might like to attend the ceremony with you, you may purchase them a ticket.

Film Night

IMCC8 Film Night is an evening of inspiring storytelling and connection, open to all registered delegates. Join us on 14th November 2026 from 7:00 PM onwards at the Edinburgh International Convention Centre for a curated selection of impactful films showcasing marine conservation efforts, environmental challenges, and inspiring solutions from around the world.

Featuring the voices of scientists, practitioners, Indigenous communities, filmmakers, and ocean advocates, the films will highlight the challenges facing our oceans, innovative approaches to conservation, and the people working to create positive change.

Following the screenings, delegates will have the opportunity to connect, share reflections, and engage in conversations inspired by the films. Whether you are looking to discover new perspectives, celebrate creative approaches to conservation, or simply enjoy an evening with the IMCC community, Film Night offers a memorable opportunity to come together beyond the traditional conference setting.

RSVP by 18 September 2026 to help us confirm capacity and determine the availability of spaces for inviting members of the public to join this special screening.

IMCC8 Film Night is included with your conference registration and you can RSVP if you would like to attend.  However, if you are bringing a companion to Edinburgh who might like to attend the film night with you, you may purchase them a ticket.
