Early bird registration closed on July 31, 2026.
Regular registration is now open and will remain available until 11:59 p.m. on September 18, 2026 (International Date Line West, IDLW) - the latest time zone in the world, giving everyone the best possible opportunity to register before the deadline. ��
Late and onsite registration rates will increase further after the regular registration deadline, so we encourage delegates to register as early as possible to secure the best available rate and confirm their participation.

Developing Country/SIDS* registration rates are intended to support participants based in developing countries as per guidelines of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). To be eligible, individuals must both live and work in a developing country. Those residing in developed countries are not eligible, regardless of where their work is conducted.
Cancellation Policy
- Registration cancellation requests should be received by August 28, 2026.
- Cancellations received prior to August 28 for registration must be received in writing via email to IMCC organizers at IMCCteam@conbio.org in order to qualify for a refund less processing fee of 50 GBP. The processing fee in incurred for all refunds and will be charged irrespective of the amount to be refunded.
- The organizers must be provided with the reason for the cancellation and the delegate is requested to provide documentation in support of their cancellation.
- The organizers reserve the right to withhold refunds for requests they consider unreasonable
- No refunds are applicable for cancellations received after August 14, 2026.
- No refunds will be issued for no-shows.
- Substitutions for attendees are accepted until September 18, 2026 please email IMCC team for more details.
- Where applicable, all refunds will only be made post the conference.
Travel, Accommodation, and Registration Grants:
IMCC8 is not offering travel or accommodation grants at this time. We kindly request that delegates do not email the IMCC team regarding travel funding and instead continue to check this webpage for updates.
We are actively seeking additional support from sponsors and donors in Scotland, the UK, and internationally. If additional funding becomes available, we will offer a limited number of registration bursaries associated with volunteer opportunities. Any available support will be awarded through an application and review process, and details will be announced on this website.
Press Accreditation
IMCC8 is thrilled to welcome members of the press and invite you to apply for media accreditation. If you are interested in covering science, policy, and discussions shaping global ocean stewardship, please submit your application through our short form. Once received, the IMCC8 organizing team will review your details and reach out within 2 to 3 weeks regarding your approval status. The deadline to apply for press accreditation is August 14, 2026.
