ICCB 2023 Travel Awards

The deadline to submit applications to the ICCB 2023 Travel Awards has passed.

ICCB Travel Reimbursement Awards help qualified delegates attend SCB's 31st International Congress for Conservation Biology (ICCB 2023) in Kigali, Rwanda from 23-27 July 2023.

ICCB has limited funding to help successful applicants partially offset the cost to attend ICCB.

Applicants need to meet one of the following essential criteria:

  • Full-time graduate (Master or PhD level equally considered) or undergraduate student. Priority will be given to students currently enrolled at a university based in a developing country per the list of countries available here. (this criterion applies regardless of citizenship). Students in Africa and graduate students over undergraduate students are given special priority.
  • Early career researchers based in a developing country and whose salary does not come directly from sources in developed countries. This criterion applies regardless of your country of citizenship. An early career researcher is anyone employed and conducting research within three years of having completed a Masters or a PhD degree.
  • All staff from international and non-international NGOs based full-time in a developing country, with priority given to staff from NGOs based in African countries (this criterion applies regardless of citizenship).
  • Organizers of pre-congress training courses (this criterion will be open to anyone from any country so long they are not tenured professors) with priority given to organizers from developing countries and special consideration given to organizers from African countries.

Applications were due online by 18 April at 11:59 p.m. US Pacific Daylight Time.

Award money will be provided shortly after the conference.
