Registration Discounts

Various discounts are available to IMCC5 delegates. If you are attending another Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) Conference in 2018 (e.g. SCB Asia Section Meeting, SCB Oceania Conference) you are entitled to a 5% discount on your registration fee. Some of the other SCB meetings are offering reciprocal discounts. To take advantage of this discount, please email us a copy of your registration or proposal/abstract acceptance for that conference. If you have neither at this stage, please still email us and we will make bespoke arrangements. In addition, all female symposium leads will be granted a discount of 20% as part of an initiative to improve gender equality in marine conservation. Female symposium leads should contact us to access their discount. A maximum of one discount can be applied per delegate.

Carbon Offset

Given the scope and severity of climate change, and the mission of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) and the SCB Marine Section, the IMCC5 Organizing Committee has taken steps to ensure the congress does not become "part of the problem." The recent Paris Agreement was a watershed moment, where a call for action rather than words was made in relation to the cutting and eliminating of carbon emissions. Given the particularly severe threats to ocean environments, IMCC5 should lead the addressing of climate change and ocean acidification. All congress registrations include a contribution to the carbon offset project (opt-out available upon registration). The contribution for developed country professionals is $13. The contribution for students and professionals from developing country professionals and Small Islands States is $5.

More information on the Chairty that the carbon offset will donated to will be annouced in the future. Check back for updates soon!
