SCB Seeks Board Member Nominations

Make a lasting impact on SCB, give back to the conservation community, and help advance the mission and goals of our conservation community when you nominate yourself or someone else to serve on the SCB Global Network Board!

The SCB Nominations and Governance Committee is accepting nominations for President-elect through February 12th, 2025.

This is an exciting and pivotal time to lead the Society. The GNB seeks to elect our next President-elect, who will serve a four-year term beginning in July 2025. The term includes two years as President-elect, followed by two years as President.

As the leader of a diverse and international Society, the President-elect will help to foster a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and shared values that strengthens SCB’s identity as a global network. This role is central to cultivating the connections and partnerships that drive our collective conservation mission forward.

The President-elect collaborates closely with the President to maintain a cohesive, long-term vision for SCB. They also chair the Global Conference Committee, providing strategic direction for one of SCB’s most impactful activities.

To submit your nominations, review the Terms of Reference for President-elect and the Nominee Criteria, and then fill out and submit the Nominations Form and the Global Network Board Skills Matrix Assessment. If you are nominating yourself, you must complete the skills matrix. If you are nominating someone else, we will follow up with the nominee directly to request that they complete the assessment.

Why Serve on the Global Network Board?

Joining the GNB is more than a leadership role—it’s a chance to:

  • Strengthen SCB’s global network by connecting regions, programs, and chapters to maximize conservation impact.
  • Uplift diverse voices and expand equitable access across SCB’s global community.
  • Create inclusive experiences that connect members across disciplines and geographies.

Elections Process

SCB's Nominations and Governance Committee will review nominations in accordance with the nomination review policy and present the candidates to the Global Network Board. The GNB will then elect a President-elect from the pool of nominees.
