Subject: Register Now:  Introductory course on the Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation

Conservation Planning Training Opportunity

Registration is now open for an introductory course on the Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation (Conservation Standards), the widely-used strategic planning framework for conservation projects. This live, virtual course begins November 5th and is offered through the Center for Wildlife Studies

The course consists of 7-modules (3-hours per module) during which participants work in coach-guided teams to learn and develop each component of an action plan based on the  Conservation Standards. Participants learn the framework by applying it to a case study based on a real project. As such, teams gain hands-on experience working with real challenges and uncertainties, and it is an exceptional opportunity for both beginners and experienced users of the Conservation Standards to improve their capacity and confidence in project planning, implementation, and management.

By the end of the course, a participant can expect to (1) have experience implementing each step of the Conservation Standards action planning process, (2) know how to adapt a plan to make it climate-smart, and (3) have a step-by-step blueprint for how to use results chains to produce supporting documents including work and monitoring plans.

If you don’t have the time to commit to a seven-session live course, consider enrolling instead in a self-paced Conservation Standards course to get much of the same great content without the same scheduling commitment.

Register today to become a better strategic thinker and planner so you can become a catalyst to help teams of stakeholders do better conservation!

Full refunds are available until 1 week from the start of a course. Plus, the Center for Wildlife Studies offers a 100% money-back guarantee if a participant is not fully satisfied with the course.

“This course brought our team from complete novices to being ready to tackle our own projects using the Conservation Standards framework. Lessons and meetings were well organized, facilitators were very knowledgeable, and the time commitment was intense without being overwhelming. I gained a greater appreciation for the value of the Conservation Standards as well as the tools to implement them.”

“Already having a bit of experience working through Conservation Standards I was worried this course would just reiterate the same information I have already come to understand. However, this course went beyond just going through each step of the Conversation Standards process and used lots of real-life examples and case studies to work through. I found it to be enlightening, and have gained new tools that I see adding much value to my future planning and management of projects.”
