District of Columbia Chapter

The Washington, DC Chapter (SCBinDC) was formed in 2006 when members of the Society for Conservation Biology realized at its annual meeting that the DC area has a unique concentration of conservation resources, institutions, and practitioners, but few opportunities for informal interaction between them.

Today, the Chapter has close to 200 active voting members and many more who stay connected with the Chapter via its Google Group.  The Chapter holds regular events to promote interaction and collaboration between the academic, non-governmental, and governmental conservation practitioners in the nation’s capital.

Stay in touch and get connected with SCBinDC by joining the Chapter's Facebook Group and Google Groups.
