Call for Nominations: SCB Freshwater Working Group Board
There are five open positions on the FWWG Board: President and four Member-at-large seats, to be represented by SCB members. All seats are open for two-year terms. We seek members with interest in freshwater ecosystems. Helpful qualities are: 1) Leading initiatives that both reward and create opportunities for students or early career researchers; and 2) with experience leading group communications and outreach.
Some previous activities of the FWWG board members include: co-published papers, organized professional training courses, delivered webinars, and launched public outreach efforts to advance the conservation of freshwater ecosystems.
Nominations are now due by 1 April, 2021.
If you believe you would be a good candidate for one of these positions and would be willing to participate in at least 4 video conference calls per year, and 1 in person meeting every two years (at bi-annual ICCB meetings), please send (max 300 words) response to the form below by e-mail by 1 April, 2021 to the FWWG Board at email@example.com and cc to FWWG President firstname.lastname@example.org. In 2003 at SCB's annual meeting in Duluth, Minnesota, the Freshwater Working Group was formed to help promote freshwater conservation concerns within the Society and the discipline at large.
