Annual Workshop
MOSCB organizes an annual workshop at the Missouri Natural Resources Conference (MNRC) where hundreds of conservation professionals, managers, and academics gather in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. The aims of our workshops are to engage professionals and students across the state in conversations on current conservation topics that affect the Missouri landscape and its biodiversity. Past workshop topics have included:
- The potential impact of climate change on Missouri Biodiversity
- Managing natural resources in a state undergoing climate change
- Aligning public support for Missouri conservation
- A viewing of “Green Fire; Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for our Time”
The Glade
MOSCB prides itself on writing a biannual publication, The Glade, on relevant and current conservation issues in Missouri state. Initiated in 1998, The Glade is a compilation of science-based articles written by members of the Missouri conservation community. Read current and past copies of The Glade here.
Student Poster Competition
MOSCB is proud to host an annual student poster competition at the Missouri Natural Resources Conference. Undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students are welcome to enter the competition and posters are judged based on scientific soundness and conservation applications and/or implications. First and second place winners receive a financial award, a membership to SCB and MOSCB, and are invited to write an article about their research in The Glade.
