Description

The goal of the Missouri Chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology (http://moscb.weebly.com/) is to facilitate cooperation and establish a communications network among individuals in the state of Missouri who are involved or interested in issues relating to conservation biology. To achieve this goal we:

  • encourage communication and collaboration within the field of conservation biology, and between conservation biology and other disciplines (including other biological and physical sciences, the behavioral and social sciences, economics, law, and philosophy) that study and advise on conservation and natural resources issues;
  • publish and disseminate scientific, technical, and management information (for example, MOSCB's Newsletter The Glade);
  • educate, at all levels, preparatory and continuing, the public, biologists, and managers, in the principles of conservation biology;
  • promote a forum for awareness of and involvement in local and global conservation issues;
  • advance and articulate positions of MOSCB on matters of public policy;
  • promote research and the maintenance of the highest standards of quality and ethics in this activity.

MOSCB membership comprises a wide range of people interested in the conservation and study of biological diversity, including resource managers, educators, government, private conservation workers, and students.
