Society for Conservation Biology

SCB Standing Committees 

Standing Committees have broad missions that are central to the activities of the Society and are expected to be in existence for at least five years. The Audit, Equity, Inclusion and Diversity, Finance & Investment, and Governance Committees are Chaired by current Board members. Chairs of all other standing and ad-hoc Committees are current SCB members who are appointed by the SCB Board of Governors. These volunteers serve in key leadership positions that are vitally important for advancing SCB’s Strategic Priorities and Mission. 

Committee service is very rewarding and you can gain great personal and professional satisfaction in supporting our progressive Society. Committee members must be SCB members who have a vested interest or expertise, in the Committee’s scope of work, will attend Committee meetings (via telephone, web conferencing and/or in person) and will participate in Committee work.  Individuals interested in joining or Chairing an SCB Committee should contact Kathleen Munger.
